For an event that welcomed university deans and presidents from all over Texas, the idea was to create a PR Box that invoked the culture of the Rio Grande Valley. The outside of the box needed to reflect the Rio Grande Valley’s most iconic cultural points while the inside would be stocked with goodies and treats for the recipient to enjoy. Since the Rio Grande Valley is most known for its food, its tropical environment, and its nationally ranked university institutions, I wanted to create an icon pattern for the cover. Each icon, in some way, pays tribute to all of the things that make this area unique.
